A fellow club member returned with a Qaanaaq 512 made by Japanese based Water Field Kayaks. It’s a lean mean rolling machine if there ever was one. Quite a tight fit too.

I got to test sit it inside the club house:

Later we test rolled it in the cold dark harbour. My greasy shiny face is due to the vaseline I put in my face to reduce the cold shock.

The two small hatches was installed by the previous owner, to make room for his feet. Interesting solution!

I gave the under-the-hull-sculling-roll one shot and never have I been that close at hitting it.

The verdict: Boy oh boy!
